This Is What Happened When I Sent Protective Energy to My Friends

“Seeing is believing…” — Thomas Fuller, 17th century English clergyman

The story I’m about to tell you is true. I haven’t got any proof, nothing to back it up beyond my word. All can say is that I have nothing to gain by making up any of this.

But you might…if you believe me.

A few decades ago, my spiritual journey led me to contemplations about “the Universe” instead of “God.” I began learning about the concept of “energy,” and how it can impact all aspects of our lives. These have become so deeply ingrained in my belief system that it seems impossible there was a time I did not think this way.

I remember when I first heard about people surrounding themselves with protective light, or sending energy to someone who was ill or struggling in some way. Despite the fact that I had long since discovered my abilities as a psychic and a medium — both of which are entirely about connecting with energy — these ideas seemed a bit “woowoo,” even for me.

I continued on my spiritual path and it wasn’t long before I was dabbling in witchcraft. Okay, forget “dabbling.” I’d become immersed in it, got myself a beautiful altar (made from a thick slice of a tree trunk), a proper cauldron, a wand, a dagger, a boat load of crystals and all sorts of other bits of witchy paraphernalia.

Spell-Casting and Energy

I delighted in learning how to cast sacred circles and do spells safely. And while I’m here, it needs to be said that the first rule of Wicca is “Do no harm.” There’s another at the top of the list about never casting a spell on anyone without that person’s express permission.

Of course, there are many people who choose to violate these rules but that doesn’t mean witchcraft is bad; it just means some people are being flawed humans and abusing its power.

Wiccans believe that what you put out, you’ll get back three times. So I guess those who are casting nasty spells on others will get a good slam upside the head at some point. Yay, karma. It rocks. Even if you’re so arrogant as to think you’re immune.

Spell-work is all about gathering and directing the energy in the Universe for a specific goal. It seemed to be working extremely well for me, to say the least. Whether I was casting spells for prosperity, healing, protection, or anything else for myself or others, the results were astonishing.

That “protective light” and “sending energy for healing” stuff didn’t sound so woowoo anymore.

Protective Light

I began working in earnest with protective blue light. Not as a part of a spell, just focusing on sending blue light around people who asked for protection. As it turned out, nothing bad happened to anyone in those situations. There was no way of knowing if I had prevented any harm or not.

Did I believe my sending blue light had actually made a difference? Not really but it was a nice thought.

And when I began making regular flights across the Atlantic, I would envision the plane completely surrounded by blue light as soon as I settled into my seat. I repeated my particular flight mantra for several minutes while visualising the blue light. I still do this every time I fly anywhere.

My most recent flight to England was my 41st time crossing the Atlantic; so far, so good. Did the blue light ever contribute to those safe journeys? We will never know for sure.

But after I tell you my story, you can decide whether or not there might have been any influence.

The Unexpected Test — Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004

Florida had the misfortune of dealing with four hurricanes in six weeks in the late summer of 2004. One of these was Frances. Said to be as big as Texas, she was 1,000 miles wide and slow-moving. Once she made landfall, she wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon; the damage from relentless winds and massive flooding would be devastating.

I was living here in England. I had a dear friend who lived in Florida. She and her husband, their nine cats and two Rottweiler puppies lived half a mile from the ocean.

For days, Frances churned slowly across the Atlantic, building momentum. Soon it became clear that the behemoth hurricane was barrelling down on Florida. And she was headed straight for the area where my friends, Carol and Mike, lived.

Living just half a mile from the ocean, they were in a mandatory evacuation zone. And they weren’t leaving.

“Where are we gonna go with all these animals?” Carol’s rhetorical question was unhelpful. “We’ve been through hurricanes before; nothing bad has ever happened.”

Given what the experts were saying, she was obviously in massive denial about this one. Frances was a beast and my friends were way too close to the ocean.

With Carol’s permission, I began “blue-lighting” their home, their vehicles, their property, anything that belonged to them. I did this every few hours in the days before Frances hit, not remotely confident that it would work but it was all I could do.

The day arrived.

Frances was due to make landfall late that night or in the early morning hours of the following day.

I spoke to Carol several times that day. Her good friends, Don and Maggie from across the street, were there with Carol and Mike. The four were waiting out the day together, killing time till it got ugly.

During one of our phone conversations, Carol was outside in the back yard with the puppies. I could hear the wind and a lot of background noise.

“What’s all that clattering and banging?”

“Oh, that. Yeah, there’s a lot of debris being blown into the yard already.”

“Is that safe for the puppies?”

The words were out of my mouth before I remembered her “Don’t even think about telling me what to do” attitude. She would not take kindly to the remotest suggestion that she wasn’t taking care of her beloved animals. And let’s just say she told me so in a rather direct way.

I apologised but I was still worried. Her words did not allay my fears.

Without saying anything, I began surrounding the puppies in an extra dose of blue light to be sure they stayed safe. I knew it was against Wiccan principle to do this without permission, but if anything happened to them and I hadn’t at least tried to keep them safe, I’d never have forgiven myself. A stubborn and defensive puppy-mum seemed a dumb reason not to try to help.

The winds picked up and suddenly, we were cut off. I tried ringing back a few times, to no avail. Frances was knocking on Florida’s door.

I hadn’t had time to ask if Don and Maggie would like me to offer blue light protection for their home and property (on the remotest of chances that it would even work). I presumed that in those circumstances, they’d have said yes. I mean, would anyone really say no, even if they were skeptical?

Once again, I broke protocol and I began surrounding their home, yard, vehicles etc. with blue light, just as I had been doing for Carol and Mike.

Shocking News

It would be a few days before phone lines were restored. As soon as they were working again, Carol rang to tell me they were okay. On hearing her voice, I collapsed into a chair, relieved and exhausted from worry.

After an initial report about the state of things there, Carol said, “I just have to tell you…the most amazing thing happened! It was about 9.00 Saturday night. The winds were terrible and I knew it wouldn’t be long before Frances made landfall. I took the puppies out to the back yard for one last time.”

I bit my tongue, remembering my secret “blue light” protection of the pups.

“I was sitting in a chair and I closed my eyes for a few moments. When I opened them, the whole yard was filled with a beautiful blue light!”

She was obviously impressed — but I wasn’t. I mean, I’d been telling her for days that I would be doing that. Wishful thinking, power of suggestion…whatever.

I said nothing and let her continue. And I got the shock of my life.

“Then I looked down at the puppies and each one of them was surrounded by the most incredible, deep blue light I’ve ever seen!”

I just about choked on my tea. I sat bolt upright in the chair, my jaw in my lap. Before I could even contemplate what to say, she went on.

“And then I looked across the street, and Don and Maggie’s house and yard were also covered in blue light!”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. And she had no idea of the magnitude of what she had just told me. Heck, I’d been burning myself out for a week sending blue light but even I didn’t really expect that it would work.

There was only one explanation.

While I was trying to absorb this astonishing information, she continued. She explained that the only two houses and properties on the block with no damage were hers and her friends’.

“All the other houses have had trees fall on them, some of which smashed through roofs. There are broken windows, ripped up fences, damage to cars — all the houses are a mess! But nothing of ours is damaged, and nothing of Don and Maggie’s either!”

They had been up and down the block and had checked out neighbouring streets as well. No other houses or yards looked anything like the two that had received my blue light protection.

It got weirder.

“Mike and I were out cleaning up the debris that had blown into the yard. He went over to the driveway to check our vehicles. A couple of minutes later, he was calling to me. He was standing there with avocados in his hands, looking at the cars, the avocados, the cars again. He was totally puzzled.”

“Avocados?”

“Yeah. Our neighbours next door have a huge avocado tree. Those strong winds were pelting avocados down onto our vehicles. Mike found them all the way around our cars and in between them on the driveway. But there wasn’t one mark on either of the cars. Not one dent. Not a crack in the windshields. Nothing.”

I was more than a little stunned with all of this news. I let her keep talking while I tried to digest what she was telling me.

She began to chuckle. “Mike was staring at me and shaking his head. He was saying, ‘This can’t happen! This makes no sense!’ And of course, I knew it was your blue light but I wasn’t gonna tell him that! He already thinks I’m nuts!”

Finally, it was time to tell her the rest of the story. She had to know the truth. I didn’t care if she might have been upset with me when I told her about protecting the puppies in spite of what she had said.

Fortunately, Carol was so shocked and amazed when I told her the rest of the story, she made no comment about the issue with the puppies. We were both in awe to discover that I had actually managed to keep them and their property safe.

If she hadn’t seen the light for herself, we might have thought it was one hell of a coincidence.

And if I hadn’t specifically sent blue light to the puppies and her neighbours’ property without her knowledge, we would have thought her “seeing the blue light” was just wishful thinking.

But because she did not know about the extra light, and because she had seen it anyway, and because theirs were the only two properties in the area that were unscathed, there is only one conclusion to be drawn.

Now, whenever I use blue light on flights or when I’m getting in my car or for any other purpose, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it absolutely works.

Has my blue light been keeping me safe on flights or in my car? Has it kept me safe in other situations in which I — or someone who had asked for my help — needed protection?

You be the judge.
